MICKEY MOUSE FACE MASKS | JUST CUTE PACKAGING?

December 31, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday! And, Happy (almost) New Year!

I hope that you had a wonderful week celebrating the holiday season with your loved ones and are ready for a fresh new year! I know I am. Most years I get back into the routine of waking up early, working, and eating right because in previous years my husband has always worked this week, and he has been working this year but from home, so we have been thoroughly enjoying playing with our little loves, cuddling by the tree, and eating all the cheese. Legit guys, the meme below is me this week, anyone else?!

Joking aside, as we enter the new year a lot of us will have resolutions or goals, and one of mine this year is the idea of not feeling guilty or putting self-care or self-love on the backburner, and while I can’t splurge on big treats, I want to allow myself to not feel guilty about enjoying things for myself like an adorable bath bomb with fun packaging, even if it’s just a regular old bath bomb with cute packaging. If you’re familiar with The Five Love Languages, one of mine is gifts, and for me, it’s the idea that the details of how something is presented or wrapped can make all the difference. So, what does this have to do with Mickey Mouse Face Masks? Well, a lot. These Mickey Mouse Face Masks were sold at Target as part of the Mickey Mouse line last spring and summer, and they are just regular sheet masks, not better or worse than others I have shared here, but the packaging makes me feel SO HAPPY that to me, they’re better. Now, these masks were limited edition, but I managed to find a few on Amazon in case you’re a big Disney fan like me.

In 2019 I want you to allow yourself to enjoy the simple things like cute packaging and details. Do you want to spoil yourself with a “high-end” latte or a themed beauty item? Go for it, in moderation, and treat yourself. Happy New Year! Please be sure to let me know what you want to see me share, review, and feature on this blog for 2019! xx

STICKY BRA REVIEW | BRAS FOR BACKLESS SHIRTS | BRAS FOR LOW CUT SHIRTS

December 24, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday! And, more importantly, Happy Christmas Eve if you celebrate!

We are a week away from NYE and if you’re like me, you get the perfect outfit for occasions like this and then at the last minute realize that your bra awkwardly shows. Not cute. So, this year I wanted to share a review for a sticky bra that you can order on Amazon for less than $15. I realize that this post may not be needed if you have a very small chest, and may not work if you have a very large chest, but if you’re at that in between size like I am, this post is for you. *Note: With clothing, there have been many times when I’d prefer to have a very flat chest and others where I could use some more volume…We always want what we don’t have, right?  If you do have a smaller or larger chest, you may still want to check out the Amazon reviews, because many women in all bra sizes have left helpful reviews.

Invisible Adhesive Bra 2 Pack

If you search “sticky bra” on Amazon you’ll get a LOT of results, and I have tried several and honestly have had very similar results. My favorite bras are the ones that have the drawstring or lace-up style so I can somewhat adjust how much cleavage I would like. I have come to love this particular set because they come with two, the pack I ordered came with nude and black, and the adhesive is VERY sticky. Does it feel completely secure like an underwire bra? No, but I do feel covered, comfortable, and confident wearing clothing that is backless or a more low cut. Some sticky bras have little quarter sized circles for your nipples, but this particular bra does not, so I like to wear nipple petals like these because the idea of ripping this off at the end of the day without some nipple protection makes me shudder. Overall, completely worth trying a few out for the price.

Have you tried these? What do you think? What is your favorite backless bra? What if your favorite bra ever? What if your favorite bra for low-cut tops? Have a very Merry Christmas! Thank you for reading, today and always! xx

CeraVe AM Face Moisturizer with Sunscreen SPF 30 Review

December 19, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

If where you live is anything like where I am here in Michigan, the winter months make you crave sunshine, but even when it doesn’t look sunny it is important to wear SPF every day to protect your skin. Several months ago I shared my favorite sunscreen for the face, the Algenist Sublime Defense Ultra Lightweight UV Defense Fluid SPF 50, but have recently been trying out the CeraVe AM Face Moisturizer to see if it’s a more affordable drugstore option.

About CereVe AM Face Moisturizer SPF 30

CeraVe AM Face Moisturizer with Sunscreen, SPF 30 claims to moisturize throughout the day and helps restore the protective skin barrier. The CereVe AM Face Moisturizer is formulated with broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen for daily UV protection.

  • With ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid
  • Oil-free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Fragrance-free
  • Gentle, non-irritating formula

My Thoughts

I was not surprised when this had a strong white cast because it is a sunscreen product, but it is much thicker than the Algenist Sublime Defense which is a very liquidy consistency, if I put some of the CereVe on my hand I could flip my hand over and it wouldn’t fall off. I found that as I would rub this into my skin it would pill up, similar to if you get fuzzies from socks or pajama pants, but if I used less of the lotion and rubbed it in upwards circles it worked without the pilling issue. I now only use this product mixed with other facial moisturizers (this is my favorite) and it seems to work very well that way. I do have combo/oily skin, so if you have dry skin you may not have the issues with the product pilling as you rub it into the skin. Would I buy it again? I would in a pinch to mix with other face moisturizers if I needed an affordable facial SPF that didn’t break me out, but otherwise, I’ll stick to the Algenist Sublime Defense. I do enjoy the CeraVe brand and was bummed I didn’t like this more. I am happy that it doesn’t break me out and will use it mixed. If you know of a fantastic drugstore facial moisturizer with SPF 30+, please comment because I would love to try it!

Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipstick Review | Drugstore Liquid Lipstick

November 26, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Monday!

I hope that you’re feeling refreshed after what was hopefully a long weekend! As I cuddled up on the couch looking at our Christmas trees all lit up, I literally started counting my blessings! Living with purposeful gratitude has been such an impactful thing for me, and I talk about my favorite way to do it in this post.

If you read this blog often, you know that I’m a liquid lipstick girl. I love liquid lipstick because they’re lower maintenance than a traditional lipstick, and it doesn’t kiss off on my husband, little loves, or my coffee mug. Currently, I’ve been all about my Dose Of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick and Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick, but when I dear friend of mine gifted me with a gift basket for the holidays (how cute is that, by the way?!) that included two of the Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Liquid Lipstick I became obsessed and had to share with you!

About Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipstick

This lipstick claims to glide on like butter but then stay put. Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipstick Made goes on glossy yet transforms into a high-pigmented matte finish with some serious staying power.

My Thoughts

I have tried two colors, which are both gorgeous and highly pigmented. Because these shades are both statement colors, I can’t speak to the lighter shades, but I love that I only need a thin layer applied. The color dried quickly and I have been amazed by the staying power! This would be perfect for a night out because it really does last a long time. I make my makeup work because I apply my makeup at 5 a.m and often don’t take it off until late evening, so touching this up once around lunch and then one more time if you needed to wear it in the evenings? That’s a win in my book! Matte liquid lipsticks are known for being drying, and I do find that these are drying but not more so than other liquid lipsticks. The Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipsticks are not uncomfortable to wear, and I just make sure to have my lips exfoliated before wearing these.

My Routine

When I start my makeup I always apply a thin layer of a lip balm (these are my favorite) as a way to prep my lips. I like to wear a lip liner with my liquid lipsticks. I wear NYX Retractable Lip Liner in Red with Missy and Fierce and Rimmel London Lip Liner in Cherry Kiss with Berry Recognize.  I then get my Wet n’ Wild Liquid Catsuit Lipstick and wipe any access off of the doe foot applicator before applying a thin layer to my lips. I keep my lips parted as best I can until the lipstick dries and then apply the tiniest bit more if needed to make the application even. I reapply again around lunch (especially if I ate salad with an oil-based dressing) and again as needed.

ESQIDO GEL EYELINER DEMO AND REVIEW

October 24, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

I hope that you are having a wonderful week so far! A few months ago I did a false lash tutorial and review of the Esqido Mink Lashes and they have become one of my favorite brands for falsies, so when they reached out to me asking if I’d like to try their gel eyeliners I was very excited. These Esqido Gel Eyeliners were sent to me for my consideration for review, but this is not a sponsored post and as always all opinions are my own.

About the Esqido Gel Liners

The Esqido Gel Eyeliners boast that they offer all-day pigmented formula, a continuous even flow that covers in one perfect coat, dries matte, retractable and sharpenable gel pen. These eyeliners are formulated without formaldehyde, parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. They are fragrance-free and are safe for sensitive eyes.

My Thoughts

I usually use a liquid eyeliner (I love this one) so the less exact point was different than my norm, but I have been impressed with these eyeliners. I like using the brown for subtle, natural makeup looks and even though it’s less harsh it still lasts all-day which is impressive. I also have used the black both with false lashes and smudged for a smokey evening look. The built-in sharpener and twist up mechanism make these eyeliners a breeze to use, and I definitely will reach for them over a charcoal liner.

AFFORDABLE COLORED CONTACTS | IRIS BEAUTY COLORED CONTACT COSMETIC & CORRECTIVE

October 17, 2018 & Leave a Comment

Hi there! Happy Wednesday!

I hope that you are having a wonderful week! A month ago I shared my first Iris Beauty Review featuring a pair of their cosmetic colored contacts.  I spoke in my first post about how I knew that you could wear contacts that were nonprescription, but I have always liked my eye color and didn’t think it would be worth the hassle. I was contacted by IRIS Beauty and almost turned down the opportunity to try out some colored contacts for my consideration for review, but decided that I would risk jabbing myself in the eye to give you the low-down on the IRIS Beauty contacts (you’re welcome). Today I wanted to share a video showing the difference they make, and even going from my natural blue to green is quite dramatic.

Natural Looking Colors

Composed of several layers, our unique patterned technology enables the lens to block the original color of the iris, giving you a completely fresh look. The safety of your eyes is preserved thanks to the printed layer of the lens being embedded inside two external non-printed layers. You can look for competitors but none have reached this phase of contact technology.

Corrective AND Cosmetic

All IRIS Beauty lenses are available with or without Rx. Iris Beauty lenses cover Myopia from -0.25 to -6. The lenses are also available in a cosmetic version (Plano). All Iris Beauty lenses have the same metrics: base curve 8,6mm & diameter 14,2mm. Iris Beauty lenses are safe to use for daily wear for 6 months after opening.

FDA Approved Quality

IRIS Beauty lenses are designed to provide all-day comfort and sharp vision. The color patterns of the lenses have specific metrics that preserve your sight and give a natural look. They’re made to exacting standards in the manufacturing partner’s state-of-the-art facility, which has been following ophthalmologist’s requirements for more than twenty years.

Made in the United States

All of the lenses are made in the USA by a family-owned business. They have worked for decades with US ophthalmologists selling private label contacts. Iris Beauty can offer you high-quality products that were previously only available from your ophthalmologist’s office.
